News United Spinal Association Offering Range of Materials at Exhibit Booth at CMSC 2016 United Spinal Association Offering Range of Materials at Exhibit Booth at CMSC 2016 by Margarida Azevedo, MSc | May 12, 2016 Share this article: Share article via email Copy article link TheĀ United Spinal Association, a nonprofit focused on improvingĀ the quality of life for peopleĀ with spinal cord injuries and disorders (SCI/D), a group of conditions that include multiple sclerosis (MS), announced itĀ will have an exhibit booth at theĀ Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers‘ (CMSC) 30th Annual Meeting,Ā to be held at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland, June 1ā4. The organizationās booth (No. 617) will display various resources, such as educational features for patients withĀ SCI/D, including Disability EtiquetteĀ and the award-winning magazine āNew Mobility,ā which covers diverse topics of interest toĀ wheelchair users. Staff from the associationĀ will also be on hand toĀ offerĀ information on the group’sĀ newĀ Affiliate Service Provider program, an online directory providing consumers, caregivers, and professionals a spectrum of disability-related products and services, both regionally and across the U.S., with an emphasis on SCI/D. “United Spinal fully supports CMSC’s work to advance multiple sclerosis research and share critical information and resources within our community,” saidĀ James Weisman, president and CEO of United Spinal, in a press release. TheĀ CMSC 2016 Annual MeetingĀ is the most comprehensive and multidisciplinary MS educational event inĀ North America. It will feature a series of lectures, workshops, symposia, roundtables, panel discussions, and poster and platform presentations, covering a range of issues that affect MS patients and those who provide them with care. Highlights include a lecture by Dr.Ā Fred D. Lublin,Ā of Mount Sinai Medical Center, an internationally renowned authority on the scientific and clinical aspects of MS. Dr. Lublin will deliver the openingĀ John F. KurtzkeĀ Memorial Lecture on the theme, āDo relapses really matter?ā Other notable addressesĀ include Dr.Ā Daniel PelletierĀ on “Genetic Variations Relating to Glutamate Concentration in the Brain,ā Dr.Ā Jack AntelĀ on “Multiple Sclerosis: Can the Damage be Undone?“, and theĀ John F. WhitakerĀ Memorial Lecture byĀ Dr. Jerry S.
