The MSAA on Helping MS Patients – Monday Through Sunday

In this video, the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America (MSAA) reminds everyone that people with MS don’t get a day off from the disease. They have to deal with multiple sclerosis every Monday through Sunday.

The MSAA is dedicated to aiding Americans with multiple sclerosis, working to help them better manage their day-to-day activities and to improve their quality of life. Often, small acts of kindness — by the MSAA and others — can make a big difference in a life.

Cathy received help from the MSAA one Monday in July. An active walker, she found that heat stress, a common side effect of MS, was taking all enjoyment out of the exercise. The association gave Cathy a special cooling vest that she could wear on walks to make her more comfortable.

Sarah was having difficulty raising funds for an important MRI scan, necessary to determine how her condition was progressing. On a Wednesday in October, the MSAA arranged for her to undergo the much-needed scan.

On a Friday in March, the MSAA helped Simone discover how much swimming could help improve her strength and balance.

The organization also offers MS patients a free app, which they can use to manage their disease and keep in contact with their healthcare team via a cellphone.
