What's Important Now

Londonā€™s ExCel exhibition and convention center is set for a busy Saturday as ECTRIMS winds down today and MS Life opens just down the hall. Organized by the MS Society, MS Life is billed as the biggest MS family event in Europe.

With ECTRIMS drawing to a close, many delegates will already be packed and ready for their journey home but that is not to say it is all over.

The morning starts with a ā€œLate Breaking Newsā€ session in which delegates are given the opportunity to see eight short presentations in less than 90 minutes ā€” and thatā€™s no smallĀ feat in terms of organization.

This is followed by the congressā€™ closing plenary session, which is being chaired by D. Miller, of London, U.K., and X. Montalban, of Barcelona, Spain. The session includes the Confavreux Lecture: ā€œWhere do we go from here with imaging in clinical trials for MS?,ā€ given by J.S. Wolinsky, of Houston, Texas, U.S.

ectrims-2016The 32ndĀ congressā€™ scientific highlights are being summarized by E. Meinl, of Munich, Germany, while clinical highlights are in the hands of M. Hutchinson, of Dublin, Ireland.

Various awards are being presented for ECTRIMS posters, best ECTRIMS oral presentations by young researchers, Rehabilitation in Multiple Sclerosis (RIMS) poster award, best RIMS oral presentation, and the Multiple Sclerosis International Federation (MSIF) award – as well the announcement of ECTRIMS Honorary Members.

Finally, a preview of the location of the next congress location, Paris, France, is being given by that city’s own C. Lubetzki.
