It’s rightly won a slew of awards but as a stand up aficionado I heartily recommend it.
Set in the 50/60’s crossover it tells the climb of a female comic. Unlike a lot of drama it gets the guts of what becoming a stand up is about. Also how much harder it is for a comedienne. And you’ve just got to love the device of her becoming comedy mates with Lenny Bruce.
I’m halfway thru – I’m going to have a happy holiday watching the rest.
