As this seems to be the culture section of our forum – here’s a media story that dropped in my lap. Literally.
My brother-in-law had cut out a clipping from ‘The Times’ newspaper – as it’s behind a pay wall, there is no other way. It was about Britain’s longest running soap ‘Coronation Street’. He thought I’d be interested because it involves an MS character who is also called ‘Johnny Connor’. A tad close to home – what!
This was some three years ago. They got around to MS after 57 years on air. The UK’s MS Society initially helped to make the MS storyline factual. They should have smelled a rodent when the character was male – the ratio is circa 3-1 of women to men!
Now the MS Society have written a letter of complaint to the producers of the programme after they introduced hallucinations into the storyline! Giving the MSr – Charles Bonnet Syndrome [CBS] as well. Which does exactly that. According to the MS Society and other charities it is very rare.
I’m sticking with ‘The Terminator’.
