This is Kali Thomas’s story: She was diagnosed a few months after her 21st birthday. Kali’s inital shock turned into anger that turned into denial. She read books, searched the internet, bombarded her MS specialist with questions.

Four years later, she began experiencing pain in both hips. She was soon diagnosed with yet another disease: avascular necrosis. Despite two steroid infusions, no one had warned Kali about the risk of avascular necrosis.

Kali wants everyone with MS to be their own advocate. MS is an unpredictable disease full of surprises. Treatment complications should not have to be one of them.

    Kali, your strength is incredible!

Back to our #MSCommunity, have you ever heard of avascular necrosis? Regarding your own treatment, has your doctor warned you about any potential side effects?
