How has your definition of feeling “fine” changed over time?
I say “I’m fine” a lot for someone who isn’t really “fine.” Some of it is because it’s just the standard answer to what is little more than the standard greeting of “How are you?” It’s almost as though people have to throw in some keywords to let me know that they really want to know how my life is going.
Some of it is because, like nearly everyone with MS, I have a very flexible definition of fine. “No, I’m not fine, but I’m fine for me.”
Has your definition changed over the years? What keywords prompt you to say how you’re really feeling?
