The Same Ol’ Same Ol’
MS on its own is way bad enough but it’s the ancillary illnesses that grind.
For me by far the worst is the bad ol’ Urinary Tract Infection [UTI]. By comparison the horrors of excruciating Trigeminal Neuralgia attacks have been effectively banished since I was prescribed epilepsy drug Oxcarbazepine.
My Neurologist explained on a crackling mobi [it was a nurses not mine!] that my previous full course of Lemtrada had effectively destroyed my B lymphocytes. My new DMT Ocrevus had continued this. The good news is that reduces the MS attacking my myelin – the bad news is that makes it open season for UTI attacks on my bladder!
As a patient columnist for this site I undoubtedly wrote about UTI’s more than anything else last year. Indeed I’ve even started this new year doing exactly that.
Is there anything which makes living with your MS even worse?
