  • My column today is about how people adapt, or fail to adapt, to the problems of living with MS. Are you someone who adapts? How do you do it, or what’s preventing you?

    Hi Janice,

Welcome to the MS forums. It looks like you’ve been dealing with MS almost as long as I have (DXed in 1980). We hope you’ll share some of your knowledge and experiences by joining some of our topic discussions.

    Hi Audrey,

Let me join John in welcoming you. I’m 71 years old (!) and was DXed in 1980. I’ve slowly progressed to the point where I use two canes and a Bioness L300 FES for short distances and a scooter for anything longer than about 100 steps. Buying the scooter was one of the best things I’ve done.

I worked, full-time, in the news media until…[Read more]

    Hi Everyone,

I’ve just changed the name of one of our forums from “Sports, Exercise and Travel” to “Let’s Have Some Fun!” We’re broadening this forum to make it a place to exchange our experiences and suggestions about things we do to relax and have fun. That may be a movie you’ve seen, a hobby of yours or a sport in which you’re able to…[Read more]

    Hallo Mirjam,

That’s really interesting, Michelle. I wonder if anyone else has experienced something like this?

    Hi Steph,

We’re glad you joined the MS forums. I see that John has already welcomed you. (Of course, you’re both 5 hours ahead of me, so I’m not surprised). Anyway, I hope you’ll find useful info here and will join in on some of our discussions.

Thanks for the info. It’s difficult, however, when going on-line to buy a CBD product to determine it’s quality…or even what’s really in the bottle, pill, etc. that you’re buying. Nobody checks what’s being sold.

  • One of my recent columns was about people who play with Legos to help improve their finger dexterity and mental sharpness. Do you have any suggestions for using games or apps to help you physically or mentally?

    Hi Jono,

Let me join John in welcoming you to the MS forums and I agree with much of what he has written. Many neurologists are turning away from the take-it-slow approach and favoring hitting MS quickly and with the most effective treatment possible. There is research that backs up this approach. With this disease, however, each person is a…[Read more]

    Hi Bdubs,

Let me add my welcome to John’s. I’m curious about your “stem cell treatment.” Was this actually a transplant or one of the “treatments” that some clinics in places like California and Florida are offering? What was you experience with it and how are you doing on Ocrevus?
