Short Bio | In December of 2016, I was hospitalized due to a shiga-toxin producing E. coli bacteria after eating infected spinach. I quickly went into septic shock and put in a medically-induced coma. Two months later, I was released from the hospital. I suffered for 20 months. Doctors shrugged off my collective symptoms and even tried telling me it was “all in my head.” After moving to a new city, I was rushed into the emergency room in October 2018. I had a host of debilitating symptoms. The doctor new to my case decided to run a variety of test because he suspective multiple sclerosis. Sure enough, all this time, it was multiple sclerosis. The doctor who diagnosed me believes it was due to my experience with septic shock. So, my other doctors were right about it being “all in my head” just confused a biological reasoning for psychological. Now, here I am waiting to see how this MS plays out and trying to learn more to make sense of what is happening to me. |
