Short Bio

I am a now retired RN. 15 years ago i was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. About 6 years into this I felt my body was letting me down beyond that diagnosis. Weakness in hands and then progressed to legs, Dizziness and Tinnitus.  With my walking I had a definate leaning to walk in a left arc. Memory loss, confusion, headaches, then spasming of my hands and vision impairment. After numerous consultations with Neurologists an MRI identified lesions in my brain but not my spine. 10 years on and my condition continues to decline and impact most aspects of my activities of daily living. I have more lesions in my brain, but not in my spine. I have started to have uncontrolled spasms in my limbs. My neurologists say as I have no lesions in my spine i have to wait until that happens before I can get a diagnosis and treatment for M.S. 2 Neurologists say that they feel I will develop MS and to wait until lesions appear in my spine. In Australia I am told you need to have lesions in both areas before you qualify for treatment or classified with MS. I am under the care of two General Practitioners who are trying to get me referred to other neurologists. So far I have seen 6.
