9. American Association of People with Disabilities
Losing the ability to walk is one of the problems associated with multiple sclerosis and the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) can help patients cope with this problem. The AAPD works for a paradigmatic change and increased political and economic power for people with disabilities. “Disability is a natural part of the human experience that influences all of us. As a connector, AAPD is a bridge that joins the disability community with our friends, adversaries, family, businesses, schools, and the community at large, amplifying a powerful voice for change,” stated the AAPD.

Similarly to the AAPD, the American Disability Association (ADA) also aims to meet the information needs of all Americans with disabilities, as well as promote awareness of disability culture by building bridges of understanding among all people, and enhance its collective quality of life and access to freedom. The organization works by identifying problems and strengths in individual communities, interconnecting communities, encouraging free sharing of information and resources, and establish partnerships.
