What Does MS Mean to Patients?

It’s estimated that approximately 100,000 people in the U.K. have multiple sclerosis (MS). In this film from the MS Society, we hear from patients as they discuss what multiple sclerosis means to them and how it has affected their lives.

MS symptoms vary greatly from patient to patient so everyone’s experience with the disease will be different. For some, chronic fatigue is the hardest thing to cope with, whereas others find the numbness and other physical symptoms of the disease most difficult.

The patients talk about some of the ways they manage their MS, including medication, exercise, and complementary treatments such as tai chi and aromatherapy. They talk about the importance of support from both friends and family and from MS organizations and local support groups.
