Hi John! I have no carers, I have wife and little boy (three years old ). I have a wheelchair but manual and a hoist . My left arm & hand still working but is is only what still usable. I lying in the bed 24/7. I’m looking for any info that can help me in the routine life – some tricks and things that I don’t know yet. So that is the reason…[Read more]

I have a powered wheelchair with controls on the left hand side. It took 6 months to organise.
Suddenly I could go where I liked downstairs.
That which can’t be named restricted me from venturing outzide. Till recently!
It would also help u to play with your kid – just don’t run him down.
Also u need an air mattress to prevent bed…

Hi Artemy,
You obviously have carers. Presume u’ve also got a hoist and a powered wheelchair. Thankfully my left arm & hand still work so I can still get around. If it helps pls let me know.

Let me join John in welcoming you. I’ve lived with MS for over 40 years but I still get around using a scooter or two canes. John’s disability is more advanced, as he’s written, and is a good resource for tips and hints about getting around when you can’t move very much.

Artemy, The positive thing to concentrate on in that son of yours. My son was about 1 year old when I was diagnosed. He will be 43 next month and we have grand children who are 6 and 8. Life isn’t about hiding from the storm, it’s about learning to dance in the rain. I think you’ll be able to do that.
