Siponomod vs ofatumumab?? Please help me understand why choose one over the other?

    • Hi CG,

Siponimod – It’s a daily pill. It’s effectiveness is considered to be medium.

Ofatumumab – It’s a monthly injection under the skin. It’s similar to ocrelizumab, in that it’s a monocolonal antibody that targets B-cells in your immune system. But, ocrelizumab is a bi-yearly infusion. It’s effectiveness is considered to be high.

Many neurologists are moving to the “hit it fast, hit it hard” philosophy regarding MS treatment. They’re following the “time = brain” equation…believing the sooner you prevent brain loss the better an MS patient is.

Hope that helps a bit. If you search for either medication on the main MS News Today website you’ll find a lot more info.
