Judy Graham replied to the topic I got my flu shot. Have you had one? in the forum Living With MS 3 years, 5 months ago
I am put off by the fact that the flu vaccine contains formaldehyde. I may be old, but I don’t want to be embalmed while I am still alive.

Judy,
Many vaccines contain a very small amount of formaldehyde. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration: “Formaldehyde has a long history of safe use in the manufacture of certain viral and bacterial vaccines. Judy Graham replied to the topic Bowel, Bladder Problems Linked to Higher Levels of Fatigue and Disability in the forum Living With MS 3 years, 5 months ago
It is no surprise that worsening bladder and bowel symptoms correspond with worsening disability. Personally, I eat loads of veggies and fibre, which helps.

Judy Graham replied to the topic MS Patients in US Also Troubled by Ills Like Depression and Hypertension, Blue Cross Reports in the forum Treatments and Trials 3 years, 5 months ago
Depression and hypertension two common co-morbidities of MS worldwide. Others include low thyroid function, high cholesterol, anxiety, heart disease, urinary tract infections. Also cancer and diabetes. Doc may not link these with MS. Co-morbidities increase with age. They can appear during the prodrome period – the pre-symptom phase before MS is diagnosed.

Judy Graham replied to the topic Are you using vitamin supplements in the forum Alternative Treatments 3 years, 5 months ago
I take 10,000 in Vitamin D 3 every day. This part of Overcoming MS program. I’m in London, so not much vitamin D coming from sunshine around here. Hard to know what benefits just from vit D as I take a load of supplements and also on a very strict diet.

Hi Judy,
From one former media hack to another (32 years with AP) welcome to the MS forums. We’re also both old-time MSers (DXed in 1980). So, I’m glad to have you on board and hope that you’ll add your comments to some of our discussion topics. Please reach out to me or John Conner, my co-moderator, if you have any questions. John is also a Londoner.

Hi Judy welcome to the MS Forum. Loads of info/research here. Answer questions or indeed ask your own. My fellow Moderator Ed explains all at the top of the Welcome Forum. I’m still, just about, a media hack! Spent my first 10 years of working as a freelance arts journo, Ed worked as a proper reporter , what was your shtick? Cheers John
