3 + years post autologous HSCT in Russia.  MS for 14 + years stopped dead and after 2 years of ups and downs getting over chemotherapy and maturing a new immune system – disease has stabilized, improvements seen and disease in remission.
Re:  the article about a treatment using mesenchymal stem cell-derived neural progenitors (MSC-NPs) can safely and effectively ease inflammation in progressive MS.
First you need to put the disease into remission – then you can use mesenchymal stem cells ( from own patient’s bone marrow)  to repair MS lesion damage.  Of course the patients will deteriorate without first stopping the disease.   The stem cells work great for repairs but if the disease is active it is only going to undo the good it is doing.   We have HSCT for small cell vasculitis yet why cant we get this treatment in Canada or USA  (USA you can for big $ pay privately) in our public hospitals as a valid treatment to put MS into remission.  IT WORKS!
