Had symptoms in my 30’s such as vision and numbness. Officially diagnosed in 90’s via history and MRI. Was in lottery for Betaseron when it was first approved. Continued teaching and made modifications to carry on. Have remained ambulatory throughout. Attitude, exercise and diet make a difference. When I had no major exerbations for 20 years my neurologist felt I could discontinue medication. He said if my MS flared up again there were many new medications to choose from. Here’s the tricky part. My mom had MS and it looks like my youngest son may have it as well. They are going to do another MRI to verify the diagnosis.
