• Degrading Neurons

Posted by John Connor on December 4, 2019 at 1:58 pm

It’s going to be a while until I see my neurologist so in the meantime I thought I’d ask you lot.

I know about MS pain intellectually but luckily up to now it’s been primarily academic.

Except for Trigeminal Neuralgia but  as ‘straights’ also get it. We just get it more…..

Now my arm hurts if I try to extend it too far. Too far is an extremely limited range.

I presume the relevant neurons are being ground down and sending out cramping signals. My muscles must be in a permanent state of stress.

The signal must be akin of white noise.

In the midst of the night, when the dope kicks in, the pain eases. But also it seems to boost what are best described as ghost neurons because suddenly my arms works better. The muscles  loosen and pain dissipates.

My question is am I now stretching muscles which does them good? Or merely stretching more easily because the drug reduces pain?

If it is the latter – will it merely cause more  pain when the drug wears off.

    Any insights?
