Lymphedema Is Possibly an Untold Effect of MS
In Sept 2018 I wrote a column ‘Lymphedema: A Growing Problem?’ which I’m still getting replies to. I followed this up in Feb 2019 with ‘Wrap Up Warm: It’s Colder than Mars!’
when I finally managed to hustle myself into a Lymphedema clinic in the UK. My first col on the subject in Feb 2018 ‘Having a Swell Time’ elucidated more replies than I’ve ever had, Readers started writing to each other!!The only scientific study I can find linking the two is from 2014 ‘MS May Develop in Lymph Nodes, Not Autoimmune System’.
If you to suffer from Lymphedema please comment on it here on this post. I really wonder if it’s something of a secret side effect of MS. If I had the scientific background it is something that I really think might be worth investigating. Nothing else that I’ve written about as a Patient Columnist here for four years has garnered such a long term reaction!
