MS Study Identifies Enzyme as Key to Myelin Renewal and Nerve Cell Health
A study may offer a better understanding of the processes behind a continual and healthy renewal of myelin — the protective substance wrapping nerve cell fibers and damaged in MS. It identified an enzyme, PRMT5, as regulating oligodendrocytes, the myelin-producing cells of central nervous system.
