  • Anyone Been Stirred to Do Something By their MS Diagnosis

Recently, one of our new members revealed that he gained a Master’s degree in Philosophy since his diagnosis. It’s quite possible that he may have been heading down this route anyway. But it got me thinking – with the complete change in lifestyle forced on us with MS, we might make other changes as well.

I seem to have returned to journalism for Bionews (the parent company of MS News Today) – a job I started off my professional life with 40 years ago. Many have become MS advocates. Our illness and dealing with all the associated medical bureaucracy fill our lives. Trying to do something on top is tough.

Did anyone start a new business for instance? Did you pursue a creative outlet?

I just kept on doin’ what I’d been doin’, John.  My MS progressed slowly over the past 42 years, so I didn’t feel the need to do anything special. I just continued my life, eventually getting slower at doing that.
