First Person With MS Joins New Myelin Repair Trial
Now this is exciting. It’s not on a mouse but Annabelle.
The MS UK Society is reporting this trial is about to start.
By repurposing existing diabetes and hay fever drugs.
The trial is testing two drugs in combination:
Metformin is an existing diabetes treatment.
Clemastine is an antihistamine used to treat hayfever.
I tried clemastine myself four years ago as it was thought it might have a remyelination effect by researchers. It completely knocked me out, so I stopped taking it after a week.
And that above column elicited more replies than anything I’ve ever received – well over 50 – there is obviously an intense interest in this research.
Please let me know your thoughts on these current events. What do you think about this trial?
