What is your theory on how MS occurs?
Posted by Debi Wilson on February 24, 2019 at 12:36 pmWhat do you think causes MS? Some theories involve infections, viruses or genetics. What is your opinion. Can you remember a specific occurrence that may have been an MS trigger?

Yes, I caught shingles a few years before any signs of my MS and before my MS diagnoses, maybe 4 or 5 years before, all went untreated due to a Bank Holiday GP surgery closure, told too late to treat it, gone over the 3 day period. In hindsight what we know now, this could have been the trigger to what started my MS on its journey. The gut theory is another possibility I am drawn to.

Yes I agree with you on both. Â I really feel like my MS started when I was 14 with having mono (EBV)

Only in recent years I have heard of EBV, also known as the kissing disease, ie mono. If I had known about mono when I was young, I would never have kissed anyone. The whole planet has EBV.
I have decided to tell people the virus EBV is eating parts of my brain. Because that’s what is happening, yuk!
When I fixed my knee cap clunk I hoped to get my knee back, but that didn’t happened because the MS has got my knee, I would say to my roomate, and he said, No, it’s in your brain, not your knee. Oh right I thought, so it is.
EBV is like the common cold, not much can be done to eliminate either. I truely feel EBV is responsible for alot of illnesses. It lurks around hiding until something triggers it, ie stress or trauma. And we all get a dose of that from time to time in this life.

Yes I also believe we have all kinds of illnesses tucked away inside of us just waiting for that trigger that starts it off. Even cancers we are not safe from, they are there hiding just waiting for that trigger. Deal with those triggers then just maybe we will get somewhere, we may make medical history, who knows what we may eradicate.

Lurking viruses, possibly triggered by stress, Â trauma, or who knows what?

Not sure what stresses we had before MS but we sure have our share of stresses now.
