  • My husband walks the dog, and I use potty pads for night time. She likes to sit on my lap, so I take that time to brush her and cut where is needed around her eyes and mussel. She is part Yorki and Doxson. She has the Yorki hair and dox body. I have to keep her hair short around her face or I am always cleaning it after meal time. If I don’t get to her in time after a bowl of soup, she will use a blanket to clean her face.. lol.. but it is so funny to watch her after I have washed her up. She goes into dry my face mode… No cats here but we feed the birds and what ever comes our way. My husband now feeds the birds for me, that I miss as I talk to them and they seem to know that I am their source of food.  Sorry, I seem long winded today.. God bless you!

Hi Debi, It is indeed difficult for me to do daily tasks. Even brushing my teeth. I had to get an electric tooth brush. Before I was diagnosed I could not figure out why my arm got so fatigued. I had to stop mid way and rest. So much better now. I have been trying to find little ways to cope better. Shower/bath chair, toilet rails. I can still go to the sink and wash my dish, but my husband has taken over the cooking and cleaning. It was very hard to let go and let him take charge and sometimes, I just have to bite my tongue, as men do things different. My mom taught me, do it right the first time and you won’t have to go back and redo it. He is a trooper and starting to get the hang of things. I can’t be their telling him how. I am just grateful he has taken on my tasks.

My big advancement last week was walking out to the mail box with out my care or walker. I was so proud until I hit the door and had to find a chair asap! How about you?

I hear ya Jackie! I am wondering if anyone is having issues with this..  I have lost my gag reaction, I use to gag very easy. I can’t brush my teeth with a normal tooth brush anymore, electric. I hate it. another question, I have been having issues with swallow reaction. I take my pills, water in my mouth and it just sits there. I keep telling my self, ok, swallow and nothing. I have learned to take smaller amounts at a time. I choke on my water, coffee and food. The swallow issue scares the heck out of me. I refuse to go on a feeding tube!!! I have an endoscopy on the 9th. They want to rule our every thing. I am sure it is MS because I have now lost ALL of my reflex in my body, even my pupils do not dilate anymore.

  • This is a good post! I have been wondering the same thing. My come and goes are, my voice leaves and sometimes it is an all day deal. I have recently found if I eat a Popsicle it helps, or a cold pack on my neck. My eye wobble or shake. So, no more driving. Bladder and bowels come and go. Either I am running to the restroom or sitting and sitting and waiting. I had to go have my bladder drained. My walking, I am normally walking into walls, or getting my legs crossed up. So, this is all the time. My back always hurts. I can only stand for about 5 minutes before I have to sit. My muscles are always moving around in my body. I get jerks when I lay down. It was violent until I got meds for it, and they are not so bad now. My eyes are always blurry. Brain Fog comes and goes. Just a few times, I had a bad attack with my whole body shaking. It scares me.  Im sure there is more but I have used up a spoon now. God Bless.

Hi Debi, I use a four leg cane around the house. Walls, chairs and sofa to hold onto when walking. I don’t go anywhere except the doctor’s. Only one time they had to wheel me out in a wheel chair because my eyes decided they were going to go cross on me. I got really disoriented. I had to teach my husband how to do the shopping. I used one of those motor carts. I was so stressed out by the time we reached the car I started crying. I don’t cry easy. Those things go way to slow.. lol and so does my husband. Im hoping to hear from others. If you are in a wheel chair, what caused you to take that step. Can you still walk?

    Stress.

I always loved to host dinners. Thanksgiving and Christmas. The last three or so years I noticed I was down for about a week or so afterwards. Last year I had to tell my kids, mom can’t do this anymore. It’s your turn. Thus far, no one has called me to ask me over to their home for Christmas celebration. In a way, I am relieved. I spend most my days with my Jesus anyway. So, this year it looks like it will be a normal day with Jesus and I.

Happy 60th Birthday Cathy Chester!.. Im right behind you.  Goal Setting. I set a goal about 7 months back to eat better and work out more. I got off gluten and dairy and animal fats, trying to get off sugar but I just love my coffee creamer. That is a tough one. I joined WW. I have a gym in my garage. So, started walking on tread mill about 1 or so miles, did the weights and so on. Then I noticed I was having trouble walking, talking, seeing, bumping into walls and so very tired. When I layed down my limbs and head and hips would go crazy. It was violent. Now I know it was Spastic jerks. I even slapped my self a few times and my cup of coffee when flying. broke some dishes and my husband finally said that’s enough. We went to the doctors, he as in my bio.. almost carried me in.. So, new changes, My goals now are to take it slow. See how I do each day. Some days I over do it on the work outs, so, I take a time out for a day, maybe two but no more that two. eating healthy seems to be a big thing, I have read. I ordered some books on how to eat for anti inflammation. Still doing research…
