In an action dream this morning, the boat was about to capsize, and I dove towards the water. Before I got to the water I woke up on the floor. I fell out of bed again, hit my head on the bedside table this time, hitting the fall with a thud. I woke up yelling for help. I must have looked like a beached whale lol. To be honest, this is happening a lot. I have fallen out of bed 3 times in the last 6 months. It must be MS related.

Anyone else falling out of bed?

    Hi Jilly,

I’m really sorry you’re having this problem but glad that it’s never happened to me…at least not yet! I sure hope you’ve mentioned it to your neuro.

It’ll be interesting to see if others have had this problem.

    Hi Jilly,

This is a new one – the wonders of MS r unceasing!

Luckily can no longer do anything but lie on my back! Which up to now have always found a tad unlucky.

Have read that all wheelchair using people still walk in their dreams, even the ones who’ve been that way since birth.

Besides your Neuro as Ed suggests, maybe an Occupational Therapist might be able to help. There might be a specialist type of equipment /bed perhaps?

    Cheers John

    HiĀ  Ed and John.

I have tried a body shaped bean bag next to my bed but it’s hard to get to my bed with that., and a bit slippery. Had a new idea and placed two pillows under the fitted sheet, felt like spooning, that’s been awhile lol. My forehead and left arm still hurts.

I would like a rail of some kind that can be raised up and down. I have contacted the health system and have been put on the waiting list to be seen. Otherwise they all say I might need a hospital bed, yuk.

Our health system like many others is stretched to capacity with the Covid. I wasn’t able to get an eye exam at all, not even 6 months away, I may have glaucoma, ekk.

Jilly, I haven’t been in a body shaped bean bag since college. Fond memories. šŸ™‚

lol Ed, I bet you have some stories too.

I saw my doctor about all this falling out of bed stuff and I have been fast tracked to get a fitted bed rail. So that’s good.

I have stories, Jilly…if I can only remember them. This was the late 60s, after all!

Hope the new bed rail will solve the problem.

I have been given a bed rail, I feel much safer now, I bought a body pillow but got the rail first. So I am using the body pillow as my pillow, it’s really wide, I love it.
