Day 20 of 31
This is Jenn Powell’s story:
Hosting The Multiple Sclerosis Podcast has been eye-opening, exposing me to the diverse and inspiring voices within the multiple sclerosis (MS) community. Every guest I have spoken with — patients, caregivers, physicians, scientists, researchers, thought leaders, and advocates — brings a unique perspective shaped by their experiences. Yet, despite our differences in background, symptoms, and personal challenges, we all share a common goal: a future free from MS.

Powell and Cyndi Zagieboylo, former president of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, met up at the ACTRIMS Forum 2022.
The beauty of the MS community lies in its diversity. No two people experience MS similarly, yet every voice contributes to the broader understanding of this disease. Some guests have spoken about their struggles with mobility, while others have described the invisible symptoms that often go unnoticed by the outside world. Caregivers share stories of resilience, while researchers offer hope by discussing breakthroughs in treatment. Each story is different, yet they all share the same underlying theme: passion, perseverance, hope, and the relentless pursuit of a cure.
Every community member plays a part in moving us closer to that cure. Patients who bravely share their stories bring awareness. Caregivers offer unwavering support. Advocates fight for better policies and funding. Researchers dedicate their lives to scientific discovery. None of us can do it alone, but together, we are a force capable of driving change.
MS may impact us differently, but our shared determination unites us. By continuing to listen and learn, we are not just hoping for a cure but actively working toward it. I am continually humbled by our shared journey to get there and help one another along the way. And that, more than anything, is what makes the MS community so powerful.
