Coach Damon V demonstrates the single leg step-up with Michelle, a rare move that builds hip flexor strength, balance, and full-leg power. He emphasizes safe form, driving through the heel, and engaging the opposite knee for stability and control on each rep.

Damon V: What’s up, guys? This is Coach Damon V with another rare move for you guys today with Miss Michelle; we’re going to show the single leg step-up with a knee drive.
A couple important points here: We’re going to have something that we can use for balance. The step-up is tough enough. The knee drive’s tough enough. Let’s make sure we feel safe and confident to execute this move.
So Miss Michelle is going to bring her foot up. We’re going to work the hip flexor on the way up. Chest up nice and tall. Drive through the heel and the opposite knee comes to the chest.
Exactly. All the way down. All the way up each time. Yep. Perfect. We’ll hit six to 10 reps. Miss Michelle’s going to do six for us. Three. Beautiful job, Miss Michelle. Four. Five.
The reason we like the single-leg stuff — and switch legs — particularly for athletes with MS, is because sometimes we have an affected side and we need to make sure we don’t favor the good side. It forces us to work each leg all the way from the ankle, the calf, the quad, hamstring, hip, and glute.
What number is that, Miss Michelle?
Michelle: Five.
Damon V: Five, one more. And rest. Give me some. Beautiful job, Miss Michelle, that was great.
