MS Canada is inviting cyclists across the country to take part inĀ its 2026 MS Bike season, a series of fundraising rides aimed at supporting Canadians living with multiple sclerosis (MS).
The annual MS Bike series brings together thousands of participants to ride scenic routes while raising money for research, advocacy, and support services. This yearās lineup includes one- and two-day tours ranging from 40 to 200 kilometers (about 25 to 124 miles) at locations nationwide.
The first events are scheduled for June 27ā28 in Alberta, with routes connecting Airdrie to OldsĀ and Leduc to Camrose. The season will wrap up on Sept. 19 in Waskesiu, Saskatchewan.
A Canada-Wide virtual option running from June through September allows participants to ride anytime, anywhere.
āMS Bike is an energizing and accessible challenge,”Ā Gemma Cowan, assistant vice president of community fundraising at MS Canada, said in an organization press release. “It opens the door into a powerful ecosystem of camaraderie and support. Itās a fun, vibrant and safe environment bringing people together in support of all Canadians affected by this disease.”
Rewards, on-site break stations add to the fun
Canada has one of the highest rates of MS in the world, with more than 90,000 people across the country living with the disease. Funds raised through MS Bike help support a range of programs and services for the MS community, including virtual wellness programs, peer support programs, and educational materials.
Participants who register for MS Bike commit to raising a minimum of CA$500 (about $365), with rewards available at certain fundraising levels. Each registered participant living with MS receives a jersey, while additional items ā such as T-shirts, cycling shorts, and backpacks ā are awarded based on funds raised.
MS Canada has set a fundraising goal of CA$5.54 million (about $4 million) for 2026.
Cyclists can use the MS Bike mobile app, available for Android and iOS devices, to track their rides, connect fitness devices, recruit team members, and manage fundraising through social media, text, and email.
Along each route, participants are supported by on-site teams offering mechanical assistance, rest stops, and fun break stations where cyclists can relax.
In addition to riders, many events are also seeking volunteers to support key roles such as route marshaling, rest stop coordination, and participant check-in.
“Whether youāre a seasoned cyclist or a first-time rider, youāll feel the immediate sense of community that is present at all MS Bike events; proving that together, we really are stronger than MS,” Cowan said.
