Two upcoming, free events for members of the multiple sclerosis community are to be held during the next few weeks at Coral Gables, Florida, and San Antonio, Texas, respectively. Sponsored by the pharmaceutical firm Genzyme, these interactive events will provide opportunities for people with MS and members of the MS community to share and exchange information and expert views on MS and learn about treating the disorder with Genzyme’s MS drug Lemtrada (alemtuzumab) — a treatment for relapsing MS.
Attendees will be able to hear a range of points of view, evaluate treatment expectations, and get tips on how to discuss treatment goals with doctors and loved ones. Free valet parking will be provided for all attending the events.
The San Antonio MS Exchange event will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14, at the San Antonio Marriott Riverwalk, 889 East Market St. in San Antonio.
Keynote speaker will be Dr. Ann Bass, MD, of the Neurology Center of San Antonio. Dr. Bass has been in private practice with the Neurology Center since July 1997 and board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology since 2002. She specializes in multiple sclerosis and has 1,000+ MS patients under her neurological care and management. In 2001, Dr. Bass established a comprehensive MS clinic, including an infusion treatment center for MS patients, which was recognized and certified by the NMSS in 2010.
