News Free MS Exchange Interactive Events Coming to San Antonio and Coral Gables (Miami) Free MS Exchange Interactive Events Coming to San Antonio and Coral Gables (Miami) by Charles Moore | November 10, 2015 Share this article: Share article via email Copy article link Two upcoming, free events for members of the multiple sclerosis community are to be held during the next few weeks at Coral Gables, Florida, and San Antonio, Texas, respectively. Sponsored by the pharmaceutical firm Genzyme, these interactive events will provide opportunities for peopleĀ with MS and members of the MS community to share and exchange information and expert views on MS and learn about treating the disorder with Genzyme’s MS drug Lemtrada (alemtuzumab) ā a treatment for relapsing MS. Attendees will be able to hear a range of points of view, evaluate treatment expectations, and get tips on how to discuss treatment goals with doctors and loved ones. Free valet parking will be provided for all attending the events. The San Antonio MS Exchange event will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday,Ā Nov. 14, at the San Antonio Marriott Riverwalk, 889 East Market St. in San Antonio. Keynote speaker will be Dr. Ann Bass, MD, of the Neurology Center of San Antonio. Dr. Bass has been in private practice with the Neurology Center since July 1997 and board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology since 2002. She specializes in multiple sclerosis and has 1,000+ MS patients under her neurological care and management. She also has served on the Advisory Board for the Texas Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS) since 1999 and has been a principal investigator in many multicenter clinical trials for the treatment of multiple sclerosis. In 2001, Dr. Bass established a comprehensive MS clinic, including an infusion treatment center for MS patients, which was recognized and certified by the NMSS in 2010.Ā She is a regional and national speaker on various topics of multiple sclerosis. Other speakers be Donald Jordan, RN, MSCN, also of the Neurology Center of San Antonio, and Dr. Suzanne Gazda, MD, of The Neurology Institute of San Antonio, who also serves as medical director for the South Texas Multiple Sclerosis Center, affiliated with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The Coral Gables MS Exchange event is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. to 2:15 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5, at the Westin Colonnade Coral Gables at 180 Aragon Ave., Coral Gables. Speakers at the Coral Gables event will be Dr. W. David Honeycutt, MD, of the Florida Hospital Neuroscience Institute and Neurology Associates, PA,Ā in Orlando, Patricia Pagnotta, ARNP, also of Neurology Associates, PA ā a board certified Nurse Practitioner who holds certification with AANN as a Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse, and with IOMSN as a Multiple Sclerosis Certified Nurse and is also Secretary of the International Organization of MS Nurses, and Dr. Mark Cascione, MD, of Tampa Neurology Associates in Tampa, a member of the National MS Society Clinical Advisory Committee, and also the Medical Director of the South Tampa Multiple Sclerosis Center.
