Neufit is encouraging people with multiple sclerosis (MS) to register for its upcoming MS Bootcamp, a three-day event that will showcase the company’s Neufit method for an intensive, specialized rehabilitation experience and connect patients to experts and a supportive community.

The event will take place Nov. 8-10, at Neufit headquarters in Austin, Texas. Spaces are limited, so registration is recommended, the company said in a press release.

Neufit’s rehabilitation approach combines the Neufit method, a set of exercises designed to re-educate the neuromuscular system, with its U.S. Food and Drug Administration-cleared Neubie device to improve rehabilitation and quality of life.

Neubie identifies areas where nerve-muscle communication is disrupted

Neubie, which stands for neuro-bio-electric stimulator, works by identifying areas of the body where nerve-muscle communication is disrupted while patients are physically active. It then delivers direct current electrical stimulation to the skin over that area to help promote neural plasticity, or the process by which the brain rewires itself in response to new inputs.

“Even after the first session, I felt like I was walking better, and my limp, which had been there for six years, had significantly diminished,” said a participant from a previous MS Bootcamp.

Another participant said ā€œThe Neubie allowed me to feel muscles and movements that had been hard to access due to my MS. It was incredible to experience immediate differences. I’m confident these changes will last if I stick to the protocol.”

Due to damage in the nervous system, MS patients often experience symptoms such as numbness, fatigue, pain, and walking difficulties. Although several medications are available for MS, physical rehabilitation therapy and exercise may complement pharmacological approaches, helping to ease some disease symptoms by increasing muscle strength.

During the bootcamp, participants will work closely with trained physical therapists, who will first determine their needs and develop a personalized treatment plan using the Neubie device. Patients will then be able to participate in six intensive rehabilitation sessions, two per day.

Participants may experience immediate mobility improvements

Using this technology, patients may experience immediate mobility improvements, a reduction in spasticity (muscle stiffness and spasms), and better function overall. Therapists will also guide participants on how to apply the Neufit method at home.

Each day, patients will be offered a lunch compliant with the Wahls Protocol, during which they may connect and share experiences with other participants and learn more about the Neubie system. The Wahls diet is comprised mainly of meat, fish, and plant-based foods, and excludes processed foods, grains, dairy, eggs, and vegetables like tomatoes, potatoes, and peppers.

The event also provides patients the chance to interact with people facing similar difficulties, helping them create a support system for the long-term management of their disease.
