Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a complicated disease. While no two patients experience the same symptoms, there are some symptoms which are more common than others, including problems with the eyes.

In this video from the MS Society in the U.K., patients with multiple sclerosis talk about some of the problems they experienced with their vision prior to getting their diagnosis.

Eye problems are common MS symptoms and many patients complain of double vision, blurred vision, the feeling of dry, gritty eyes and in some cases as though color has been faded and drained. Many patients go to the optometrist thinking they need glasses or to change their current lens prescription and are surprised to find that MS is the root of the problem.
