The Multiple Sclerosis Association of America (MSAA) will host its 12th annual Improving Lives Benefit on May 7, bringing the multiple sclerosis (MS) community together to raise funds and recognize advocates and innovators working to improve care and support.

The fundraiser will take place at the Switch House in Philadelphia, and the program will be livestreamed. Proceeds support MSAA programs that provide resources and services to MS patients and their families.

The MSAA is recognizing Tyler Campbell, an MS advocate and best-selling author whose football career was cut short after an MS diagnosis, as the 2026 Improving Lives Benefit Mission Honoree. Since his diagnosis, Campbell has focused on public speaking and community outreach, sharing his experiences to raise awareness and support others living with MS.

Campbell “has been an amazing advocate, raising awareness of MS while sharing his uplifting messages of hope and inspiration throughout the MS community, and beyond,” Amanda Montague, MSAA’s interim president and CEO, said in an association press release. “We also greatly admire Tyler’s commitment to supporting underserved communities.”

Company recognized for advances in brain imaging

The 2026 Improving Lives Benefit Corporate Honoree, Icometrix, is being recognized for its work in developing artificial intelligence-based software to analyze brain scans. The technology, cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, helps detect and monitor disease progression and assess treatment response in people with MS.

“We are very pleased to highlight our Corporate Honoree icometrix, which has developed significant innovations in brain imaging,” Montague said. “These advancements are helping to revolutionize the care of people living with MS. Their contributions in the field of MRI technology have been ground-breaking.”

The MSAA, founded in 1970, is a U.S. nonprofit that aims to improve the lives of those affected by MS by providing services and support while advancing research and innovation.

The benefit will feature a reception and dinner, networking opportunities, and an auction.

“Each year, MSAA’s Improving Lives Benefit raises funds to support our life-changing programs and services for the MS community. We look forward to another deeply meaningful event in support of MSAA’s mission,” Montague said.

The presenting sponsor this year is Novartis, which markets several MS-approved treatments, including Kesimpta (ofatumumab), Gilenya (fingolimod, generic versions available), and Mayzent (siponimod).

Biogen and Genentech, which market several MS disease-modifying therapies, and Immunic Therapeutics, which is developing the experimental therapy vidofludimus calcium, are gold sponsors.
